Lean Factory Simulation with Focus on
Impact to Financial Statements

Session Description:
The simulation vividly shows the difference
between a push and batch manufacturing
process versus a pull one piece flow
factory. The simulation utilizes 7 active
participants and the remainder of the
audience is active process observers making
process improvement recommendations. At the
completion, all participants will be able to
see why different measurement, costing, IT
and human systems are needed as the factory
moves toward the lean process. This is a
fun simulation and sure to stimulation
conversation and insights.
Especially valuable for those Lean
Accounting Summit participants who are new
to lean and would like to understand why an
accountant should care about Lean
Accounting. After the simulation we will
also review some of the terms used with lean
and where we might see their impact on the
financial statements.
Jean Cunningham will be the presenter. She
is a founding member of the Lean Accounting
Summit, co-author of Real Numbers and
Easier, Simpler Faster, both Shingo Award
recipients, as well as founder of Jean
Cunningham Consulting.
